X-Cart Pro is an advanced shopping cart and ecommerce solution that can be installed onto any compatible hosting server. Included in the license cost is unlimited access to new versions of the software and the full source code for the software. We think it's an easy to use product with lots of great features and it would suit anyone looking to avoid the ongoing costs of a fully managed service.

Installing X-Cart Pro is fairly easy as far as installing server software goes, but we would still recommend getting some help unless you are pretty confident with such affairs. An easy to use web interface guides you through the process and from there it's a quick jump into populating your newly created store with products. This is very easy to do and the different options for setting up products make it simple to sell exactly what you want to. You even have the option to sell downloadable products, such as e-books or music.

One of the main selling points of X-Cart Pro over and above other versions of the software is the multi-vendor capability that comes straight out of the box. This allows multiple different vendors to take responsibility for their own products and orders, but all sell from the same front end store - a perfect example being an online distributor or wholesaler. There aren't many products out there that offer this kind of functionality and so X-Cart Pro wins big points for providing it at an affordable price.

X-Cart Pro has plenty of other great features, but two of the important ones are the SEO functionality it provides and the comprehensive reporting tools. In terms of SEO your store's code is generated in a search engine friendly manner which makes it easy for the likes of Google to index and categorise your site so that you should score high in the search rankings. When it comes to reporting X-Cart Pro provides many built in reports you can generate on sales and activity, but also integrates with Google Analytics for wider insight into how traffic is getting to your store.

X-Cart Pro is a mature and well featured software package. We would highly recommend it if you need multi-vendor capability, but if not there are other versions of the product available without the multi-vendor features at a lower price. Either way it's pretty good value, especially when you consider updates are free for ever – imagine trying to tell Microsoft you were due the next version of MS Office for free!
