Potentially a good product, with good flexibility and features, let down by terrible hosting and poor support.

Our site has been up and running for 10 months now. We chose VPASP because we wanted an Open Source ASP solution and there is not much choice out there. E-Commerce Templates was an alternative option but we need some initial customisation done for our site and they were not particularly helpful. VPASP were able to help us with our customisation at a reasonable price.

VPASP offers excellent features. The software is not very well written, but manageable. I would agree with other reviews... it is not easy to run a local version of the software for testing(we have never managed to achieve this!) and VPASP needs a fairly experienced developer to develop a decent site, but the potential is there and in-house changes are possible which is good. (We are working with the latest version of VPASP and have yet to update our software which will be problematic due to customisation so the jury is out on version updates!)

We have the VP-ASP Business Ready Deluxe package which includes hosting. WEBSITE HOSTING IS TERRIBLE. Our site has been down repeatedly. This is very frustrating as we recently launched our affiliate scheme(after some in-house customisation - good feature!)and the website was down again. Not good!!!

Support from VPASP is poor. We are in the UK and the time difference is a real problem. The UK support number provided on the website is completely useless!! Helptickets raised are replied to for software/configuration issues reasonably quickly, but if the website is down no-one answers queries! This has been a real problem for us.

I am answering NO to would you recommend this product, but if hosting and support were sorted out I would recommend it.

In summary, I would not recommend VP-ASP Shopping Cart to a friend.
